Centenarian
Sri V.S. Devasundaram, Hon. Patron of AIFPA passed away in the wee hours of 10th
December 2013.
The giant pillar of the edifice, AIFPA that he built in 1979 as
founder Organizing Secretary, has crumbled leaving the pensioners community in
pall of gloom.
The Dearness Relief that we enjoy today for compensating the
erosion of pension was due to his canny and ingenious presentation of the
matter along with the late Pitamaha Krishnamurthy Iyer, also a Centenarian,
before the Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi.
Admiring his bubbling energy,
enthusiasm and untiring services to the cause of pensioners, the Central
Railway Pensioners Associations rightly described him as “Pensioners’ Messiah”.
He was awarded the “Life Time Achievement Award” by the Probus Club while
Gurusamy Forum honoured him with a Purse & Scroll.
AIFPA with obeisance pay
homage to the departed leader and pray that his soul be at peace.
